MARKET LIVE: Sensex surges 400pts, Nifty atop 16,100; IT, Financials lead

Stock market live updates: The key benchmark indices reversed early morning gains on Thursday on the back of weakness in index heavyweight Reliance Industries, Bajaj twins, Asian Paints and Hindustan Unilever. On the other hand, IT and select private banking shares held gains.
The overall mood remained jittery ahead of the monthly F&O expiry. The BSE Sensex was up 300 points at 53,450, and the NSE Nifty was seen testing the 15,900-level.
The broader markets were also on slippery ground. The BSE MidCap index was down 0.9 per cent and the SmallCap index shed 1.5 per cent.
extended its rally, gaining over 4 per cent. The company on Wednesday reported a 144.30 per cent jump in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 282.91 crore for the quarter ended March 2022.
In the primary market, Aether Industries IPO was subscribed 66 per cent as of 11:30 AM on the final day of the offer period. The retail quota was subscribed 75 per cent.
