Coronavirus LIVE: Gujarat’s Surat ordered on Thursday all vegetables and fruit shops to close from May 9 to May 14 as city authorities enforced a hard lockdown to contain the coronavirus. Ahmedabad closed all shops, except those selling milk and medicines, for a week yesterday.
India had 53,045 people suffering from the coronavirus and 1,787 deaths from the till Thursday, according to Worldometer website. Globally, 3,843,484 people have been infected, and the total number of deaths from the disease stands at 265,659.
