Thousands of protesters gathered in cities around the world, often in defiance of coronavirus-related bans on mass gatherings, in solidarity with U.S. demonstrations calling for changes to the justice system after the killing of George Floyd while in police custody.

In Germany, over 15,000 demonstrators walked through the eastern city of Leipzig on Sunday while some 5,000 people gathered again in Cologne after protests in over a dozen cities from Berlin to Munich drew crowds of tens of thousands a day earlier.
